Being a New Jersey local my complete existence, I’ve learned to locate ways to conquer a gadget this is designed to be unbeatable, that being avoiding any greater fees for tolls and parking that may be prevented with out a fantastic deal of effort.
If New Yorkers cared approximately the rate of whatever at all, they wouldn’t be New Yorkers. And a prevailing baseball team can more or much less call its charge. How else could it cost $23 (2010 expenses) to park at a Yankees recreation with out absolutely everyone batting an eye fixed? But I on occasion test with alternatives, so someday I’m going to try the usage of the Staten Island Ferry and then taking the four educate from the Battery Park place of Lower Manhattan.
Just for kicks I found out the difference in price between using and parking on the Stadium and the use of the Ferry and the four train:
Driving and parking on the Stadium:
NJ Turnpike from Exit 7 (in which I would get on) to George Washington Bridge: $12.70 round journey
George Washington Bridge eastbound: $eight
Parking at Yankee Stadium: $23
Additional Mileage: 18 metropolis miles, approximately 2 gallons of gasoline or $6
Total to pressure and park on the Stadium: $49.70
Driving to the Staten Island Ferry and the use of the four educate:
NJ Turnpike from Exit 7 to Goethals Bridge: $6.20 spherical experience
Goethals Bridge eastbound: $8
Parking at Ferry Station: $5 consistent with day
Ferry experience: unfastened (!)
four educate spherical journey: $4.50
Total using ferry and educate: $23.70
In addition, the Staten Island Ferry gives wonderful perspectives of the Statue of Liberty and Lower Manhattan and there is inexpensive meals or even beer served at the boat (which I probably won’t partake of given that I would be the use of it in the morning, however who is aware of). The ferry runs all day and all night, so one needn’t fear about extra innings. It gets crowded, but this is to be expected with a loose traveller appeal in New York City.
If there’s a disadvantage to saving $26 and the aggravation of managing NYC traffic to get to a Yankees recreation, I’m now not positive what it is. But I’ll update this if I even have any problems.
